- Affordable Development Award Homes of Hope, St Kilda | HousingFirst Homes of Hope in St Kilda has converted a dilapidated rooming house into three up to date social housing developments. Iconically, it provides a world-first facility with 36 specifically designed transitional care studios for homeless mothers and their newborns, in conjunction with the Royal Women’s Hospital. Additionally, it has redeveloped a historic mansion that was used as a rooming house into a beautiful facility with up-to-date features for 25 women with disabilities. - Consultants’ Excellence Award Club Mambourin, Frasers Property | Quantum United Management Quantum United Management have created a relatively unique business in planning, developing, and managing residential clubs in new estates. They identified Club Mambourin by Frasers Property as an example of the planning services they provide. They worked with Frasers Property for three years in the development of the club and have now expanded their role into operating the centre on behalf of the owner’s corporation. Their initiative has built a business with 31 employees setting new standards for residential clubs with a range of developers as well as Frasers Property. Its architectural teams include Hayball, NH Architecture and Rothelowman. Their attention to detail, and the ability to overcome a range of problems, including building over an old tip, impressed the judges. MAB have used Lofts in half of their apartments, and these have sold particularly well. The entire office area, which houses innovative mezzanine design, has been acquired by one company. On level 6 there are a range of facilities that can be used by residents or office workers. Moving from informing, to appeasing and then seeking registration of interest has resulted in an excellent response to the development. They had to overcome many challenges including creating an innovative water management system.
